SAINT BENEDICT PARENT ASSOCIATION

The Saint Benedict Parent Association is the parents’ organization of St. Benedict School. Its membership includes all the parents, school principal, teachers, and the Pastor. An executive board of elected officers runs the organization for a term of two years.

The purpose of the SBPA is threefold: fund raising, coordination of volunteer needs at school, and organizing the social events for parents and children. This organization is not a school board. The meetings revolve around current SBPAsponsored events and provide a forum for parents’ non-academic concerns.

Maintaining economic stability at SBS is an essential focus of the parent group. Planning and implementing the major fund raising events are central to the workings of the SBPA. All monies raised are used to offset the educational expenses of the parish of St. Benedict, thereby decreasing the subsidy incurred by the parish in running the school. This fund raising role directly affects tuition rates and the economic health of St. Benedict School.
